well i really think Wateen lost the initiative..
With PTCL's offering out there in the market and, notably, thriving. I really don't think Wateen could make a serious mark here. With that said, the only good Wateen's launch will ever come would be the competition. Competitive pricing can open new things for consumer..

Someone I know keeps on insisting that the WiMAX standard which is deployed by Wateen is 802.16d and not 802.16e, thus it doesn't allow full mobility. According to him, all the public info given in press and their official website is false.. how true is that? can an insider clear it up?

well that someone was true a few months ago when wateen first started testing...right now wimax is 802.16e by all standards...as wateen has shifted all their sites from ULAP (Ultra light access point) to DAp (diversity access point), which means that as long as the signal is available, the cpe will not sync out, which also means that if an access point or base station nearest to the cpe goes down, the cpe will automatically shift to the next best signal, without the line of sight.
