Anybody having any idea when Wateen is going to launch Broadband Internet.?

I just called Wateen's hotline, they told me they were providing broadband to home users, and that a sales representative would call me in a few minutes; I'm still waiting for that call.

btw, consumer services are still not launched....so if the customer services rep says so then he/she is misleading you. The problem will be escalated to the concerned personnel for rectification.

1 Mbps on cable internet and 1 Mbps on WiMax broadband will offer the same downloading speed and performance or is there any difference between them?

I'm talking in terms of overall performance and downloading/uploading.

crippler, 10,000 CPEs each CPE cost $300 (300 x 60 = 18,000) means you guys plan to spend Rs. 180000000 from your pocket....what i believe the registration process is only to gather data for consumer launch...

if wateen is not launching wimax for home users for the time being then why the registration

surpent, as we all know that wateen launched its services for corporate sector; its takes only 2 - 3 month to give the blanket coverage of wimax in major cities of pakistan so i believe wateen will start its wimax services for consumer/home user in next 2 to 3 months....crippler your input required in this regard.

K so I registered. I was told by Helpline some days ago about December launch in major cities and minor city like ours will get it quite late No trials or any thing in small ciities?

All the registrations are being recorded and viewed everyday...not to worry...

as for the sales people getting in touch with you... well... I don't think thats gonna happen anytime soon... but customer support just say it coz they are told to do so...

dude... seems like you are working for wateen... and it is company's decision how many cpe's to be given free... more over if you are working for wateen then you already know how deep are company's pockets...

wateen already has almost blanket coverage in all major cities... there are some issues which are needed to be taken care of before the launch...
