Smile Palit 4850 SSE ddr5 review

Guys finally i got my hands on Palit 4850 Sonic Special Editionthis card with DDR5 memory; and here are a few pics:

By baberkamal, shot with Canon PowerShot A470 at 2009-05-28

By baberkamal, shot with Canon PowerShot A470 at 2009-05-28

By baberkamal, shot with Canon PowerShot A470 at 2009-05-28

Now i m very disappointed with the package contents, as the box is very big but only card, molex connector, cd and installation guide is there nothing else.

Here's the 3dmark06 score:

By baberkamal at 2009-05-28

3Dmark06 with graphic card overclocked to speeds of 4870 (ie core/memory 750/950 MHz)

FARCRY 2 benchmarks:

* Average Framerate: 37.60
* Max. Framerate: 44.08
* Min. Framerate: 32.83

RUN 2: Same settings with 2 AA

* Average Framerate: 31.97
* Max. Framerate: 39.67
* Min. Framerate: 25.59

RUN 3: Same Settings with 4 AA

* Average Framerate: 24.13
* Max. Framerate: 31.14
* Min. Framerate: 16.64

Temps are also great:

Idle around 52c for the core and 59c for the memory as the memory doesn't hav direct contact with the heatsink.

Load temps are around 58-60c for core and 65-68c for memory.

I don't think the heatsink is the main contributor here for the lower temps as i don't think it's better than ICEQ4 but this card has advantage of 3 phase power design as other cards including HIS iceq4 hav 2 phase power design.

Speed Step:

while idle this card lowers it's core clock from 700Mhz to 500Mhz

NOTE:
All these benchmarks were performed with E5200 running at 3.7GHz

So guys now kindly let your comments out, what do u think about this card??

Awesome purchase dude. Great performance. It's almost identical to a HD4870 512MB in raw performance. Happy gaming.

Thanx everyone for appreciation i got it for 12.5K from galaxy and amazing i was also told that it's the last peice they've got but i also came to know that after i bought one they didn't hav any remaining.

@TSAR: Bro just look at the idle and load temps looks don't matter much but the thing that matters alot is the performance and temps are great for this card.

@alitayyab: Bro what game should i run to know the exact benchmark performance of this gpu.

Ali bhai i did this benchmarking with E5200 @3.7GHz, so do u still think that my processor is bottlenecking the GPU??

Between when i overclocked my card upto the levels of 4870 it only gave me 2-3 more avg FPS, so is it sign of processor bottlenecking the GPU??

@sbhesania: already posted the 3dmark06 score in the 1st post.
