If you have the ISO or any other compatible format image of Vista DVD you just need to burn that image on a DVD. (Be sure to select burn image option in nero etc. Don't just burn the ISO file as a single file on DATA DVD). If the image had bootable properties then the burnt DVD will be bootable too.

They do make bootable DVDs but adding proper CLI commands for executing Vista Setup after booting would be a bit hard... Won't it...

I have setup copied only I dont have any iso image, as I mentioned already in the post if I could get iso, instead I would have made a copy from the dvd direct.

How do I make bootable from nero7? I have nero7 installed but I cannot find any option in it to make a bootable dvd

I have made the bootable dvd through some software. This software actually created the bootable ISO file, and I have burned it on my dvd.

thanks but I have already written that I have made the bootable DVD using CDimage 2.52

I am writing the steps

1. I already had windows vista ultimate setup copied from a DVD to my hard drive, lets say it is copied in C:\Vista
2. Download CDimage 2.52 (If anyone needs it I can give the link to download it)
3. Extract cdimage from cdimage.zip to C:\ root directory
4. Open Command prompt and type the command:
cdimage.exe -lVISTA_EN_DVD -m -u2 -bC:\Vista\boot\etfsboot.com C:\Vista\ C:\Vistax86.iso

Bootable Windows Vista x86 DVD ISO image in UDF format will be created as vistax86.iso in C:\ or any folder you specified above.

could you please check if the part in bold is correct. Meaning is there suppose to be a space ' ' between -b and C:\...

thanks for sharing the info.

ps. funxlab thanks for the correction, didn't know there was a separate version for vista
