Review
I hope the review helps you make a wiser decision while buying a motherboard for your Core2/Quad Core needs. Please don't refrain from giving your feedback and suggestions.

I have once query and one suggestion.
Query is that why u tested the overclocked 6600 on ASUS with stock 6600 on MSI..? Suggestion is that use normal 2D line graphs instead of 3D line graphs.. lastly i want to know from where u have got hold of this MSI P965 Platinum board.? is it available in Pakistan. |

amazing review Baoo... this is one of the most awesome reviews in wccf's history. Very thorough, professional and keenly written. Kudos to you on putting in a Marathon effort.
PS: Noobie didnt you notice that those benchmarks that you mention come under Overclocking. Those charts were supposed to show the difference between a Stock E6600 and an overclcoked E6600 on the ASUS P5B Deluxe. And moreover we get our stuff from private channels and the MSI P965 Platinum will be available shortly in Pakistan. You might have seen the credits section in our reviews, whereby the companies and individuals are praised for providing the samples.

Thankyou for your input Noobie, I'll definitly consider your suggestion as the images appear to be distorted due to the 3D effect.
As for your query, Dany already summed it up quite nicely.

Superb Review there BaOo ! .
Simply the best motherboard review on WCCF yet. One question, did you use the latest BIOS or the one which came along with the board? MEntally Yours, Snakey.

Snakey, the BIOS version used was the latest available at the ASUS website, as the default version had limited options for our overclocking needs.
Noobie, your legitimate suggestions have been recorded for consideration and we will try our very best to rectify the shortcomings. Flattered by the comments though. They really mean a lot to me as this was my first review and that too a comprehensive one.

First of all, this is a great review [ Ba0o ]
But after reading it, i’m concerned about one thing: At the moment i’m looking for a new computer and i want to install a ATI 1950Pro graphic card (or maybe a 8800GTS), X-FI soundcard and Wireless PCI Lan card. On one of the pictures there is not much room between the graphic card and PCI slot, so is it possible to install both the soundcard and wireless PCI card on this motherboard? Thanks! |

yeah if you are planning to install 8800GTS , there is hardly any space for you to menuover on the immediate PCI.

Compliment appreciated MRX
.Sadly one of the PCI slots must be sacrificed inorder to use a dual-slot VGA card such as the ATI 1950 XTX, as pointed out in the review. You should get yourself a ASUS P5B Deluxe Wi-Fi to rid yourself of the wireless problems. With just a little more investment you'll be able to enjoy the built-in wireless card plus extra features ofcourse. p.s your ATI 1950 pro being a single slot VGA wouldnt obstruct the PCI slot

There you have installed a graphic card and "soundcard". Then there is still one PCI slot right under the graphic card, but the space between the fan of the graphic card and a WIFI card would be very small. So can i conclude that a WIFI card will fit, but then the graphic card can not take in enough air? So there are 3 PCI slots, but only one of them is really usable in this situation right? You are right about the ASUS P5B Deluxe Wi-Fi but this is a 54 Mbps 802.11g version and i'm looking for the newer one, the 802.11n from Linksys or some other manufacturer. |
