ZOTAC Unveils GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 GPUs With Prices Lower Than G6X Models 1

ZOTAC has introduced its GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 GPUs which are priced lower than the GDDR6X models of the same tier.

More GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 GPUs enter the market and this time it's ZOTAC with lower prices than G6X models

Several GPU makers have introduced new RTX 4070 GPUs with GDDR6 memory and it looks like ZOTAC has also entered the game. The company has launched a few RTX 4070 GDDR6 editions in the Twin Edge family as seen from the Newegg listing, which is the standard GDDR6 variant of one of the best graphics cards released in the Ada family.

The ZOTAC Twin Edge series brings one normal and two OC editions in black & white color themes. These GPUs are the GDDR6 iterations of the original GDDR6X GeForce RTX 4070 cards but now with slightly slower memory (20Gbps vs 21Gbps). One of these cards has been spotted at Newegg. This is the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6 Twin Edge, currently listed for $549.99.

This is $10 cheaper than the current ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X Twin Edge price at the same retailer, listed at $559.99. The ZOTAC 4070 12GB GDDR6 Twin Edge was originally planned only for the Chinese market but now it is available in more regions. The pricing is at least better than what we saw recently in Germany and Austria where most RTX 4070 GDDR6 were available for a much higher price than the GDDR6X editions.

In our testing, we found out that the GDDR6 edition was performing on par with the GDDR6X version of RTX 4070. However, when it come to 4K resolution, there was a slight difference due to slower memory speed. The 4070 is aimed at 1440p resolution and users will be mostly fine if they stick to 1440p with the newer GDDR6 card. Both cards do come with a free copy of Star Wars Outlaws which is valued at $69.99 US.

Still, it's better to opt for GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6X GPUs if you find the prices somewhat equivalent. With the 4070 GDDR6X being quite abundant in various retail stores, one can find some of its editions for lower than $550, which is a much more appealing price tag compared to the newer GDDR6 edition. However, given the shortages of G6X memory, we will soon see the newer GDDR6 models taking up inventory space.
