Another day, another piece of news about AI, as we are now hearing that you might soon be able to use AI to draft emails in Gmail. This feature might look like something that has no significance, but in reality, it does make it easier for many people to simply be sure of the type of email they want to send. More often than not, we have a mental draft that does not quite materialize, and this is a feature that should be able to help you with that.
Gmail wants you to have an easier time drafting emails with the help of AI.
Folks over at TheSpAndroid have managed to activate a feature that should be coming to the Gmail app on Android. This actually lets you draft an email using your voice. You will be able to speak the prompts, and the AI will follow them to compose a draft. This looks like a neat feature, and you can check out the screenshots of how it works below:
As you can see in the screenshot above, the feature already exists within the Gmail app and can be enabled through some test flags. The Draft Email with Voice feature is similar to the voice feature we see on some keyboard apps. However, this feature uses AI and helps you ensure that your thoughts are drafted into a cohesive email. This actually makes the process simpler and a lot easier to use since you will not have to worry about messing things up.
Again, we are not sure when this feature is going to roll out to Gmail in Android, but we are going to be sure that we are keeping you posted about all the AI-related features that Google is working on. Rest assured, it is safe to say that there are going to be a lot of AI-related features coming to smartphones as well as apps. So, be sure that you are keeping your eyes open.
