Xiaomi is preparing a range of new laptops for 2024 powered by Intel's upcoming 14th Gen "HX" & Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite CPUs.
Xiamoi Readies High-End Redmi G Pro 2024 Laptop Lineup With Intel 14th Gen "HX" CPUs, While Simultaneously Testing Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite Designs
Next year is going to be a heated one with several chipmakers competing in the PC and laptop segment. AMD, Intel, & Apple have all been gunning each other and soon there would be a fourth competitor in the form of Qualcomm who recently announced its entry in the PC segment with its new Snapdragon X Elite chips.

Based on information from insiders, it looks like Xiaomi is preparing its Redmi G Pro 2024 laptop lineup with two configurations, a high-end Intel Core i9-14900HX variant with 16 GB DDR5 memory and a mainstream Core i5-14500HX variant with 16 GB DDR5 memory. These laptops are based on the latest Intel Raptor Lake-HX Refresh chips which are part of the 14th Gen family and serve the high-end gaming segment. In addition to the CPUs, these laptops will be configured with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 discrete GPUs such as the RTX 4060 Max-Q.
In terms of specifications, the Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU offers 24 cores (8 P-Cores + 16 E-Cores), 32 threads, up to 5.8 GHz clock speeds, and a maximum turbo power design of 157W (55W PL1). As for the Core i5-14500HX, you are getting 14 cores (6 P-Cores + 8 E-Cores), 20 threads, up to 4.9 GHz clocks, and similar TDP ratings.
Xiaomi also plans to offer its laptop offerings with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite CPUs as it is reported that the company is already testing and evaluating thin and light designs running off of the new chips. These ARM-based chips based on the Oryon CPU architecture are expected to give heated competition to AMD & Intel CPUs when they arrive by the middle of 2024.
Based on what we have seen so far, the Snapdragon X Elite chip looks very strong but whether it will deliver the same kind of performance in real-world use cases is something that we look forward to seeing.
