New Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC footage was shared online today, providing a new look at some of the new gameplay features and mechanics that will set the expansion apart from the main game.

The new footage, which was put together in a single video by Perfectly Nintendo, showcases the Ex-Device, a special device that will detect nearby City survivors and show information about undiscovered areas, the Affinity View special events, Rinka, also known as the Founder Cassini of the City, and Rex's class Master Driver.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC will set itself apart from the main campaign with new mechanics, new locations to explore, and more, as showcased by more footage shared online last week. The expansion, as the very first teaser revealed, will see the return of some familiar faces, such as Shulk and Rex, and tie the entire trilogy together, detailing what happened before the events of the main game. The lack of elements that brought the whole trilogy together was definitely disappointing, although it was known before release that Xenoblade Chronicles 3's story would stand on its own without too many callbacks to the previous two entries in the series, so it's good to know that those like myself that wanted to see more of the characters from previous games will finally be able to do so soon.

Even if the game lacked elements that tied the whole trilogy together, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an excellent role-playing game and one of the best games currently available on Nintendo Switch, thanks to an excellent combat system, charming cast of characters, and engaging story. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide. The Future Redeemed expansion, which can only be bought as part of the game's Expansion Pass, will launch later today worldwide.
