2K Sports has dropped a new trailer for WWE 2K20, which provides our best look yet at the new wrestling game. We get plenty of footage of Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley in action from the new “The Women’s Evolution” Showcase, a peek at Bray Wyatt’s creepy The Fiend persona, and some legends like Goldberg, Sting, The Rock, and Hulk Hogan. As previously reported, 2K is also introducing new “WWE 2K20 Originals” DLC packs that transport the wrestlers to unique “fictional realms” – the trailer shows off a few of the rather strange skins from the horror-themed Bump in the Night pack. The game is looking…okay. WWE 2K20 is clearly running on the same old engine (Charlotte’s hair not moving when she’s upside down is kind of embarrassing) but they seem to have applied a slightly more colorful, stylized look to the game, which I think is of benefit overall. This is the first year longtime WWE developer Yuke’s isn’t involved, with Visual Concepts taking over full development of WWE 2K20, so it will be interesting to see what changes we get this year. Was Yuke’s holding this series back or were they the only ones holding it together? We shall see.
