A new WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers patch is now live on PC, addressing some of the performance issues currently affecting the game.

The 1.3 patch, which is around 1.3 GB big for the Steam version of the game, introduces a manual toggle for Low Latency Mode, which is no longer enabled by default. The patch also adjusts supersampling resolution limits on select GPU modes to prevent unintended performance degradation. Some VRAM optimizations have also been introduced for lower-end GPUs, with a memory saving optimization applied across all texture quality levels on GPUs with less than 8GB of RAM. The same optimization is also applied with GPUs with more than 16 GB, but only when quality is set to low. These changes aim to imrpove stability and reduce crashes or stuttering caused by insufficient video memory.

The new WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers patch also addresses crushing and stuttering issues and introduces a small balance change in Chapter 2. The full patch notes, which also confirm that a more extensive patch will be rolling out in the next few days, can be found here.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is far from being the best Soulslike of the past few years, but I still found the game very enjoyable, especially thanks to its great combat mechanics, which made it easier for me to look past some of the game's issues, including the significant performance issues.
