Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War IV has finally been given a release date at Warhammer Skulls 2026, with its arrival on PC officially set for September 17, 2026. More than just a release date though, developer KING Art and publisher Deep Silver also revealed the game's post-launch roadmap for its first year which includes two paid expansions due to arrive in year one.
Pre-orders for the game also went live alongside the announcement, which was revealed in a new gameplay trailer you can check out below. The base game will run you $53.99 USD if you pick it up while its 10% off to start, though if you spring for the Commander Edition at $80.99 USD, you'll get both of the DLC expansions coming in Year 1 along with the base game.
You can also pick up the DLCs separately if you don't want to grab the Commander Edition right now after the launch of the base game. Though the expansions aren't the only feature that come with the Commander Edition, as you'll also be able to start playing the game three days ahead of its September 17th launch.
If you're still one to hold out on the DLC expansions until you've at least played the base game, it's also good to know there are major free updates arriving before the first expansion, titled Blood Ravens, arrives at some point in Winter 2026. The game's first map pack, along with the return of Crusade Mode, will arrive in the Fall, shortly after launch, followed by the second map pack and a new addition to the Crusade Mode prior to the Blood Ravens prologue expansion.
The second paid expansion, Aftermath, will arrive after the next two map packs and more updates to the game at some point in Spring 2027.
It's exciting to finally have a release date to look forward to for Dawn of War IV, and it'll be interesting to see if this game, and the other major strategy-focused Warhammer game expected to arrive this year, Total War: Warhammer 40K will live up to the expectations Wccftech had for them, as we remarked that 2026 could be the Year of Warhammer when listing our most anticipated strategy and simulation games for 2026.
