Vision Pro Durability tested in drop test

Apple just launched the Vision Pro, and the headset has already been a victim of a drop test. The Vision Pro features a curved glass on the front that protects the cameras and sensors housed within. The glass also secures the external EyeSight display of the headset, and the latest drop test proves that the Vision Pro is more durable than anticipated. A YouTuber has tested the Vision Pro's durability through various drop tests, and the results are surprising.

Vision Pro durability test reveals the curved front glass is surprisingly hard to shatter

As mentioned, AppleTrack tested the Vision Pro with drops from various heights, testing the headset's durability in simulated situations. The YouTuber bumps the headset against the wall, and the front glass only shows minor scratches and scuffs. The curved front glass on the Vision Pro is surprisingly durable and does not sustain severe damage. It can be seen that the Vision Pro is dropped from various heights, surviving more than 6-feet without shattering.

However, one of the speakers of the Vision Pro stopped working after a few falls, but the front glass remained intact. The YouTuber simulated real-world usage by bumping into walls and cabinets while wearing the headset. It appears that users do not have to worry about the external display. It was also discovered that the weak spot of the headset is the hinge or the temple. The Vision Pro's hinge durability is questionable compared to the front glass, as it breaks from both sides.

Note that glass is glass, and it will break at some point, and the same goes for the Vision Pro. The curved glass of the Vision Pro finally shattered when it was dropped from a height of almost eight feet. The glass came right off, and to our surprise, it was still usable. The external glass can be peeled easily, revealing the insides. The EyeSight features worked perfectly even without the exterior glass, which exposed the cameras and the sensors. To sum it up, the Vision Pro can survive everyday use like a champ as the internal and the external displays lit up after the falls. Apple's Vision Pro is priced at $3,499, so it would be wise to handle it with care. The company also sells a $199 case for the headset, which you can buy from the company's online store.
