A display rack shows a Crucial DDR5-5600 SODIMM 64GB Kit (2 x 32GB) alongside various product packaging, with visible prices like '$4.99' and '$9.99.'

Probably one of the best deal stories we have heard in a while, but not everyone will get as lucky as this guy.

Redditor Snags a Returned 64 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM Kit from His Local Liquidator Store at an Incredible $6.99

We have seen how some users were able to buy a DDR5 RAM kit for half the price or sometimes for under $100, along with a few more components, through a pricing error. However, nothing beats this story except for the guy who was able to receive 40 DDR5 RAM sticks for under $100. The Redditor u/L0OK0UTT posted a story in the PCMasterRace sub-Reddit about how he got extremely lucky by visiting his local liquidator store.

A liquidator store is essentially a shop that sells excess, returned, or unsold items from retailers at heavily discounted prices. The user said he stumbled upon a Crucial 64 GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM RAM kit (2x 32 GB) that was returned from Amazon. However, the kit didn't have a price tag on it. So, he took the kit along with a few more household items to the counter, where the cashier tried to determine a price for the RAM kit but couldn’t identify the item or its value.

The user says the cashier gave up and charged him just $6.99 for the RAM kit, which you can see in the receipt. So, for nearly seven bucks, he was able to grab a pretty high-capacity RAM kit for notebooks that would have cost him nearly $1000. While a single Crucial 64 GB DDR5 RAM stick sells for around $600 on Amazon, most 2x 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM kits sell for $900-$1100.

Got incredibly lucky at the local liquidator store.

This was labeled as an Amazon return. It was not marked with the price. Bought a couple other household items, and the clerk didn’t know how to price it or what the item was. They gave up trying to determine the price shortly after trying to look it up in their system. Charged me $6.99.

Check your local liquidators!

The user recommended checking local liquidation stores for such deals, but remember that many larger stores like Walmart and Costco may offer incredible deals as well. We recently saw a user purchase a pre-built gaming PC featuring the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD for just $1000. Similarly, Newegg and Amazon host bundle deals from time to time, and the Radeon RX 9070 XT deals are still active on them.
