While some are seeing their hardware dying while entering 2026, others are ending the year on a far more positive note. With unexpected hardware upgrades landing at their doorstep, it’s hard to imagine a better way to start the year.

Redditor Receives Two Units of Iiyama 240 Hz Gaming Monitors As Replacement for His Broken 144 Hz Monitor

For some users, the end of 2025 was marked by their GPUs failing, while for some, it brought surprises. It's not the first time we are seeing people get an additional unit or two, but it's still rare. While this guy didn't get as lucky as the Redditor who received $5000 worth of SSDs, he was still incredibly lucky to not only receive two units instead of one, but also the superior ones.

Redditor u/Elderblueberry posts that he applied for RMA for receiving a broken monitor. He didn't reveal the monitor model, but he said it's the Iiyama 144 Hz monitor that he originally purchased. So, it's like the G-Master GB2441HSU, which boasts a fast IPS panel, 1080p resolution on a 24-inch screen. The user says the company informed him that they didn't have the same model in their inventory for replacement, so they instead sent him a better version, which is the G-Master GB2471HSU-B1, which basically brings similar specs, but a refresh rate of 240 Hz.

I applied for a warranty replacement for my broken iiyama monitor and they told me they don’t have my exact model. Instead they would send a better model from the same line. My old one was 144Hz and they told me I would get a 240Hz monitor. I was already like “wow got lucky.”

Fast forward to today the package arrives and they sent 2 of the same monitor instead of one.

I will probably have to send one back but every time I saw posts about people getting extra stuff I always thought “yeah sure buddy.”

Guess it really does happen lol

However, instead of receiving just one, he received two units of these, as shown in the pic. So, he has the option to set up a dual-monitor configuration or sell the other one, but the user says he "probably" has to send one back. Some users are suggesting that he keep the second unit as it's technically a "gift". We have seen cases where the retailers have let the users keep the additional units sent. So, he is likely lucky to keep both of them.
