The Unreal Engine 5 is going to power some of the most visually impressive games coming in the next years, but some developers already put the engine to good use to remaster some of the most popular titles ever released.

Earlier this week, a 3D Environment Artist going by 雷鸣 on YouTube shared on their channel a video showcasing an amazing-looking remaster of the Counter-Strike Italy map. While the map was sort of remade in Counter-Strike 2 last year, this Unreal Engine 5 remaster is way ahead in terms of visuals, showcasing how good a proper UE5 remake of the competitive first-person shooter would look.

As already mentioned, the Unreal Engine 5 is being used by developers to create remasters and remakes of older titles such as Tony Hawk's Underground, the original Resident Evil, and even Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Several major studios are also going to use the engine for their titles, such as Deck13, the studio behind The Surge series and Atlas Fallen, and CD Projekt Red. While the Polish studio is finding developing games with the engine a challenge, it also made clear how there are some clear advantages to using the latest version of Epic's engine.

The latest version of Unreal Engine 5 is version 5.3. You can learn more about it by heading over to its official website.
