Twitter is one of the world's leading microblogging platforms, allowing users to stay in touch with the latest news and trends. The company went through a lot of changes after Elon Musk took over, especially the deal with the Blue verification ticks. According to the latest, a Twitter bug is causing an issue where deleted tweets are resurrected for some users. Scroll down to read more details on the matter and what you can do to fix it.
A Twitter bug is causing deleted tweets to reappear automatically
Some users are reporting that their deleted tweets on Twitter are reappearing due to a bug. At this point, it is unknown how far the bug has plagued users, but it would be wise to check if your deleted tweets are revived without your consent. According to The Verge's James Vincent, Twitter has restored most of his deleted tweets which he deleted a few weeks ago. Some of these tweets go as far back as 2020, and the platform's behavior is only strange.
Vincent is not the only recipient of the mishap, as thousands of users have reported the same issue, potentially caused by a Twitter bug. Other than this, Dick Morrell also shared his insights on Mastadon, suggesting that 34,000 of his tweets reappeared after he deleted 38,000 of them. As mentioned earlier, we are not familiar with how widespread the issue is, but it seems to be impacting a lot of users. People have reached out to Vincent as well as Morrell, highlighting that the Twitter bug restored their deleted tweets as well.

Vincent has already contacted Twitter in an attempt to get better know-how related to the issue. Twitter is yet to acknowledge the issue, and it could be due to two reasons. Potentially, the platform includes a bug that works with third-party clients to delete tweets. Additionally, the issue could be from Twitter's server side. This is not the first time that a bug has caused social media platforms to act up with a specific unintended purpose. We have previously covered how a Facebook bug was causing users to send a friend request when they visit someone's profile.
This is all there is to it, folks. We will share more details on the subject as soon as Twitter acknowledges the Twitter bug. Furthermore, if it is indeed a bug, the company will fix the issue from the backend. Are you experiencing the Twitter issue? Let us know in the comments.
