Today, a bunch of former DICE and DICE LA industry veterans who worked on the Battlefield franchise announced the foundation of TTK Games.

This new Stockholm-based game developer aims to develop a next-generation online shooter with a particular focus on quality and innovation, not to mention a close relationship with the gamer community.

TTK Games Creative Director and CEO Lars Gustavsson said in a statement:

For players, the phrase ‘Time to Kill’ defines how a shooter feels and how fast it plays. We’ve made it our studio name and part of our studio culture. For us, the term ‘TTK’ isn’t just about the craftmanship behind finding the perfect speed or immediacy of a game – it’s about how human beings have been killing time through play for thousands of years. Throughout my career, I’ve made games to encourage teamwork, friendly competition, and using your mind and reflexes to accomplish a goal and outwit your opponent. We are passionate about videogames because we think there’s no better way to kill time.

Gustavsson, who worked as a Producer on Battlefield 1942 and remained as Creative Director at DICE until last November, co-founded TTK Games alongside Senior Design Director Daniel Berlin (who worked on Battlefield 4, 1, and V), CTO and Technical Director Vidar Nygren (who led the development of the Frostbite engine for over ten years), and Art Director Peter Hoyles (who was the Studio Art Director at DICE LA before a short stint at Skydance Media).

TTK Games already secured 'significant funding' while retaining creative freedom. The studio is currently seeking 15 positions, whether you'd be willing to move to Stockholm or not, thanks to a hybrid work policy. The available roles are Technical Artist, Animation Director, VFX Director, Environment Art Director, Environment Artist, Lighting Director, Animator, Lead Hard Surface Artist, 3D Artist, Principal Environment Artist, AI Designer, Lead UI Engineer, Tools Engineer, Senior Network Engineer, plus a Speculative Applications submission for any other role you might be willing to cover.

You can find more information about the career openings on the official TTK Games website.
