Apple is gearing up for one of its most launch-heavy windows of the year next week, when it might launch its much-anticipated low-cost MacBook as well as the iPhone 17e, along with the M5 Pro/M5 Max MacBook Pro, Apple Studio Displays, and possibly an iPad or two.
Apple's Tim Cook starts building up the buzz for early March
Apple's Tim Cook has just posted a brief message on X that reads: "A big week ahead. It all starts Monday Morning!"
As we noted recently, Apple is expected to launch its much-anticipated low-cost MacBook next week, replete with a new manufacturing process for its aluminum shell, the A18 Pro chip that featured in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, a 12.9-inch screen, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 controller capable of speeds of either 10Gb/s or 1.25GB/s, a haptic trackpad sans a backlit keyboard, and bright color options, possibly including light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark gray. Apple might price the low-cost MacBook as high as $749, as per the latest anecdotes.
Apple might also take the opportunity to debut the iPhone 17e that is expected to sport a 6.1-inch LTPS (low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) OLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, the Dynamic Island, the A19 chip, a C1-series modem sans the N1 chip, magnetic wireless charging, a 12MP selfie camera, a Face ID module, and a 48MP rear camera, all for $599.
Moreover, as Apple's launch window extends from the upcoming Monday till Wednesday, March 04, when it is gearing up to hold its hands-on "Apple Experience" day, the Cupertino giant might take the opportunity to debut the M5 Pro/M5 Max MacBook Pro and possibly either the 12th-gen iPad or the M4 iPad Air.
Finally, we might also get new Apple Studio Displays. We already know that at least one of the upcoming Apple Studio Display variants would feature a ProMotion-like variable refresh rate that can go all the way up to 120Hz, support both SDR and HDR modes, and come equipped with the new A19 chip, which should be a huge upgrade from the A13 Bionic chip that powers the current Apple Studio Display.
