After the recently released PS4 Slim, Sony will allegedly be releasing yet another “thinner” PlayStation 4 model.
That’s what Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes reports in a recent article. In the report, Digitimes also writes about Nintendo’s projected first-year Switch shipments and the upcoming Xbox Scorpio, which is reportedly being manufactured by Pegatron Technology and Flextronics – the same companies that have produced the previous Xbox console’s.
"Microsoft's game console is reportedly manufactured by Pegatron Technology and Flextronics and the orders are expected to become a key revenue contributor to Pegatron in the second half."
The report doesn’t mention whether Sony will be releasing a new version of the PS4 Slim model or that it’s planning to release a brand-new slimmed down version of the PS4 Pro. As the standard PS4 Slim version already exists, a PS4 Pro Slim seems more likely, especially since Microsoft’s will be releasing its enhanced Xbox console later this year.
Sony released its PlayStation 4 Slim back in September of last year. The enhanced PS4 console, the PlayStation 4 Pro, was released back in November of last year.
As with all reports and rumors, take the information with a grain of salt as nothing has been officially confirmed.
