The Galaxy S24 Series Has a Newer and Faster Fingerprint Reader Despite Samsung Not Talking About It

Samsung is known for a lot of things, but marketing its smartphones and products is one thing that it does not do the way it should. Today, we found out that the Galaxy S24 series uses a newer and faster fingerprint sensor under the display. This should have been evident by the fact that in all the review videos we have seen, the one thing that was notable in all of those was how fast the fingerprint reader has become. Still, Samsung decided against marketing or talking about it during the Galaxy Unpacked--just like the company did not talk much about its revolutionary Gorilla Glass Armor found in the Ultra variant.

All Galaxy S24 variants feature a much faster ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and obliviously, Samsung did not market it

Ice Universe, a reliable source, talked about how the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a faster fingerprint sensor. That is mainly because the company has upgraded the module from the QBT2608 of the S23 Ultra to the QFS4008 used by the S24 Ultra.

I still haven't received my Galaxy S24 device, so I reached out to a couple of people who have, and they confirmed that the base and the Plus variant also use a new fingerprint sensor, which is faster. This is still slightly new, but compared to the ones found in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 series, it is still ahead of the curve, and I am hoping that it will keep receiving improvements with software updates as we move forward.

Honestly, it baffles me as to why Samsung never talked about a faster fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S24 series. I do understand that this might not mean a whole lot to everyone, but if you are making improvements to an already tried and tested formula, you should actually talk about it and make sure that whatever you have introduced in your device gets center stage. Take the Gorilla Glass Armor, for instance. Even though the company talked about it during the event--it did not talk about it nearly enough, and because of that, so many of us did not even know what the new glass was capable of.
