TCL Drops a $338 Gaming Monitor That Switches Between 4K 160Hz And FHD 320Hz On Demand
Popular display maker TCL has debuted its latest mini LED monitor in mainland China. The company is responsible for making display panels for various vendors in the country and is well known for having a large market share in TVs, monitors, and home appliances. It's particularly well-known for its QD-mini LED displays, which are the latest offering, is pretty interesting, considering their cheap price point.
TCL has launched the QD-Mini LED 27C2A gaming monitor, which is a 27-inch display that uses a 1196-zone QD-mini LED panel. With so many dimming zones, it's able to improve contrast, reduce bloom, and enhance visual fidelity, which makes the monitor a pleasant choice for gaming and professional work.
The 27C2A boasts 4K resolution with up to 160Hz of refresh rate, but can switch to full HD at up to 320Hz, making movements super fluid. So, gamers can either enjoy and immerse themselves in triple-A titles or switch to lower resolution for fast-paced games to remain on the winning side. Apart from delivering an adequately fast display, the 27C2A boasts peak brightness of up to 1200 nits, supports 10-bit color depth, and offers 99% DCI-P3 color gamut.
TCL appears to be rapidly expanding its monitor catalog for the budget and mid-range segment, apart from targeting the enthusiast segment. The TCL 27C2A isn't just interesting due to the above-mentioned features, but because it's a cheap Mini LED display that costs merely 2,299 Yuan, which translates to around US$338. However, IT Home mentions that the monitor is also available on some platforms for as low as 2069 Yuan or US$304.
