As the GeForce RTX 5090 is not widely available, a retailer wants you to buy dozens of H610 motherboards to get a single unit of the flagship RTX Blackwell GPU.
Retailer Bundles RTX 5090 With 40x Gigabyte H610M-K DDR4 Motherboards; Total Bundle Costs Over $5800
If you are looking to buy an RTX 5090 for the MSRP, maybe this Taiwanese retailer has one for you. However, you may have to put it on a compact form-factor motherboard from the previous generation with an LGA 1700 socket. In case you don't want to, you still don't have a choice but to buy the bundle with several H610 motherboards.
Here, we aren't talking about one but a whopping 40 pieces of the Gigabyte H610M-K DDR4 motherboards. The Taiwanese retailer Momoshop has listed a bundle that costs NT$191,500 or $5,833, comprising one Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC card and forty small entry-level boards, which you probably won't be able to sell.
This is the weirdest bundle we have ever seen. Had the retailer bundled the GPU with a single H610M-K DDR4 motherboard, it would still have made some sense, considering you wouldn't have paid much for the motherboard. However, forty of those cost as much as the GeForce RTX 5090 itself. Technically, you are paying even more than twice the price of the GeForce RTX 5090.
The GeForce RTX 5090 FE and base models cost $1,999, but the premium ones can easily go above $2599. Considering their poor availability in the market, the SKUs may retail for close to $3000 or even higher in some regions. Many retailers have bundled the GPU with a component or two in the past and are still doing it to this day to tackle the shortage and scalping, but this particular instance feels almost surreal.
On the one hand, the GeForce RTX 5090's MSRP alone is too high for the masses to even buy the base model for the GPU, and on the other hand, bundles like these exist that feel like pure satire. Maybe the retailer has too many of the unsold Gigabyte H610M models, but we don't think anybody with a sane mind would be ready to throw away $2000+ additional on a bundle like this.
The GeForce RTX 5090 is surely the fastest gaming GPU on the planet, but it's best to wait for it to become widely available. In case you don't want to wait any longer and are ready for some performance compromises, you may take a look at the recently launched RX 9070 XT, which delivers performance close to the RTX 5070 Ti for $150 less. You may also try to get your hands on the previous high-end RTX 40 models, like the RTX 4090.
