Super Smash Bros Ultimate is going to get some DLC characters during the course of the year. Two of them, Joker from Persona 5 and the Piranha Plant from the Mario series, have already been revealed, but there is very little we currently know about the other fighters. We have a better idea on who they may be, however, thanks to their codenames.

The codenames of the upcoming DLC characters for the Nintendo game have been revealed through data mining - Jack, Brave, and Packu.

Packu likely refers to the Piranha Plant, but the other two are a mystery as of now. Jack may be a reference to Jack Frost, the mascot monster of the Shin Megami Tensei series. With the fifth entry being in development for the Nintendo Switch, Jack Frost's inclusion wouldn't be surprising at all.

Brave is also quite interesting, as it may be referring to any main character in the Dragon Quest series. In the Japanese version of all the entries in the series, the hero's unique class is called yuusha, which translates as brave. With Dragon Quest XI launching on Switch in the future, this also wouldn't be too surprising.

With all characters that have appeared in the series having been included in the base roster, all Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC characters will be brand new ones. It's possible to purchase them individually or all of them at the same time with the Fighter Pass.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is now available in all regions exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
