Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch To Be Announced And Released This Year – Rumor

Some of the most popular Nintendo series have already received a new entry on Nintendo Switch, and it seems like another loved series will make its debut on the new console later this year.

Emily Rogers, who has proven to possess insider knowledge, has recently revealed on the ResetEra forums that a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. series is going to be announced and then released this year. The game will feature a mix of new content and old taken from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, but it's not yet clear if Nintendo will release the game as an enhanced port or a full sequel.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough information to speculate whether Smash Bros will be branded/marketed as a "deluxe definitive edition port", a "half-sequel" or a "full sequel".

I can only confirm two things:

1. A Smash Bros title will be announced and released for Switch later this year.
2. They added brand new content and re-worked some of the existing Wii U/3DS content.

Like it usually is for information coming from unofficial sources, we have to take everything with a grain of salt until an official confirmation comes in. There have been rumors about a Nintendo Switch entry in the series for quite some time, and there's definitely the chance we will hear more about the matter this year.
