A new State of Decay 2 art piece has been shared by developer Undead Labs as part of their weekly art drop.

According to the American-based developer, the image illustrates how people in State of Decay 2 rely on base building in order to survive the zombie apocalypse.

“The story behind this image is really the story of how games are made. The team bringing State of Decay 2 to the world is bigger than it was the first time, and not all of the new people knew the game as intimately as you all know it. We needed something that would illustrate how base building means the people in our world are responsible for their own survival. It needed to make the act of choosing to grow food into something inspiring. What do you think, does this picture do the job?”, reads the description as shared by Microsoft’s community manager Josh Stein.

State of Decay 2 was officially announced during Microsoft’s E3 conference last year. The game builds upon State of Decay’s blend of open-world exploration, third-person action, and survival-fantasy role playing. Undead Labs has promised a bigger, more dangerous world, in which friends can play together through a  drop-in cooperative multiplayer mode.

State of Decay 2 will release somewhere this year for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
