The game that Phil Spencer (correctly) identified would not be the thing to make them trade-in their PS5s for an Xbox Series X, and the one that former Bethesda executive Pete Hines had to apologize to players over its perceived Xbox exclusivity, Starfield, has finally, and inevitably, made its way to PlayStation consoles with its arrival on PS5 today.

The space-faring epic arrived today alongside a couple of major updates for the game, including its Terran Armada DLC expansion, and the Free Lanes update, the latter of which is available to all Starfield owners as a free update, while the former is a paid expansion.

You'll be able to add the base game to your library for $49.99 USD, while the premium edition with the Terran Armada expansion will run you $69.99 USD. If you buy the base game now and choose to upgrade later, unless you're doing so during a sale, you'll have to spend an additional $24.99 to upgrade to the premium edition.

It's not just arriving with new DLC and updates, it's also arriving with visual improvements that take advantage of the added horsepower on the PS5 Pro, including PSSR 2.0. It's also taking advantage of other PlayStation-specific features like adaptive triggers, the speaker on the DualSense controller, and it's even making clever use of the light bar.
