STALKER 2 2025 Roadmap Includes UE 5.4 Upgrade, New Missions, Anomalies and More

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is getting a physical edition and will arrive on PS5 on November 20, 2025.

Yesterday, Ukrainian developer GSC Game World has unveiled the roadmap of updates coming to STALKER 2 for the remainder of 2025. Chief among them is the engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.4, which should deliver performance improvements, but new missions and anomalies are also on the way, as well as improvements to the modding tools.

  • Engine update to Unreal Engine 5.4 (for optimization)
  • Various night vision devices
  • Binoculars
  • A-Life updates: various technical improvements, NPCs can't see in the dark as well as before, NPC combat updates, Mutants combat and balance updates
  • New anomalies
  • New missions, from old and new friends
  • New weather scenario
  • Master difficulty preset
  • Extended day/night cycle
  • Stashes loot rework
  • Stamina and energy drinks rework
  • Immersive display mode
  • Player equipment UI update
  • More UI updates and improvements
  • Local save backup restoration
  • Further optimization and anomalies fixing
  • Zone Kit - Phase 1 to Phase 2: audio modding (Wwise), narrative tools, improved compatibility of various mods that interact with common game systems, enhanced Blueprints modification support, technical improvements and optimization
  • Discord Holiday event
  • Also, more STALKER: Legends of the Zone Enhanced Edition improvements and the release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro

We don't yet know the release date for the PS5 version of STALKER 2, but we might get the news at Gamescom 2025, where the build will be playable.

Unfortunately, there is still no mention of the multiplayer mode or the DLCs, so it's fair to imagine they won't be arriving this year. Indeed, GSC Game World warned fans that even the items on the aforementioned list may be delayed in case of 'Zone instability', which is a funny way to hint at the potential need for further polishing.
