Samsung Galaxy's AI advancement has created quite the buzz, especially with the capabilities it brought to its high-end devices. Users have been anticipating the features being extended to mid-range devices so they can reap the benefits of this incorporation. At Unpacked 2024, it was announced by the President of the company, TM Roh, that the initiative would be expanded to about 200 million devices this year. While the announcement does not date back much, we see it shaping up, with sources giving away the expansion plans to reach the A series.
Samsung to launch Galaxy AI for some of the Galaxy A devices, including the Galaxy A35 and A55
Galaxy AI has brought about many advancements with its extensive features, making the mobile experience seamless. Users look forward to Galaxy AI deploying to Samsung's Galaxy ecosystem to boost better communication and improved capabilities. The company did not let users' hopes die down, and it looks like the features are finally making their way to some of the Galaxy A devices.
SamMobile got the information from internal sources who shared the plan to extend the Galaxy AI capabilities initially reserved for high-end devices to some of the mid-range Galaxy A series. It is coming to the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, which were released in 2024.
The sources also mention that the initiatives will be launched with the One UI 6.1.1 update. No exact date is given yet, but we are guessing it could happen this month or the coming month, as that is when we are most likely expecting the software update.
Although it is exciting to know that Samsung is staying true to its promise by expanding the AI features to other Galaxy devices, there is a catch. For now, only selected Galaxy AI capabilities will make their way to the Galaxy A35 and A55. Unlike the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which come packed with the entire suite of AI-powered features, the A35 and A55 will see limited features for now.
There is scarce information on which AI tools would be incorporated and which features would not be considered for the A series, but it seems that Samsung would not include capabilities that require higher capacity and more on-device processing. Some prominent features of Galaxy AI include editing and text suggestions, note summaries, and Instant Slow-Mo for videos as well as translations.
Bringing the AI tool to its budget-friendly phones would help Samsung better combat competition, especially given that others are offering advanced features on their low-cost phones as well.
