Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy rumored to be available in two variants

Samsung has been proudly using the Snapdragon chipsets in some of the highest-end phones out on the market and for all the right reasons. Despite its own Exynos 2400, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and the same is the case with its foldable phones that are slated for later this year.

Rejoice as your future Samsung Galaxy flagship phones will pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipsets as both companies enter into an agreement

Now, Samsung and Qualcomm have entered a multi-year deal where the South Korean tech giant gets the fortune of using Snapdragon chips for years to come. While it does not mean the end of Exynos chipsets, Samsung will be sticking to a two-pronged solution, something that it has been following for some time now, and honestly, the enthusiasts do want the best experience in terms of the performance they are getting.

During the earnings call for 2024, Qualcomm talked about how it has now signed a multi-year contract deal with Samsung, and this deal will allow the company to supply Snapdragon chipsets for the future flagship Galaxy phones. The agreement started this year, and the first phone to receive the Snapdragon treatment happened to be the Galaxy S24 series. This means that there are going to be a few more generations of both Galaxy S and Galaxy Z phones to get the Snapdragon chipsets.

This deal between Samsung and Qualcomm is certainly a good thing because it will allow both companies to work closely. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is already an excellent chipset, and I can only imagine that the South Korean tech giant will get slightly more powerful versions of the chipsets, which has been happening for some time. At the same time, the company will keep its Exynos lineup alive and will be using the two-pronged strategy to ensure that every market gets something different but capable.

During its earnings call, Qualcomm said the following,

“We're also announcing that we extended a multiyear agreement with Samsung relating to Snapdragon platforms for flagship Galaxy smartphone launches starting in 2024. The extended agreement demonstrates the value of Snapdragon 8, our technology leadership, and our successful long-term strategic partnership with Samsung.

The tech industry has become a lot more cutthroat than it used to be a couple of years ago, and in this scenario, I am really glad that companies like Samsung and Qualcomm are putting their differences aside and working on releasing some really powerful chipsets. It is too early to say what the future is going to be like, but I am all for it, and I am sure we are going to get something solid.
