We could finally see the standard 24-25-inch OLED panels for gaming as soon as next year, as Samsung is reportedly showing interest in making a 25-inch gaming panel catering to the demands of users on a budget.
Samsung is Rumored to Launch a 25-inch OLED Gaming Display In the First Half of 2026; Has High Expectations for This Screen-Size
OLED monitors are not only expensive, but they are also limited to fewer form factors when compared to common display panels like IPS, which are usually available on small-screen monitors as well. The smallest you can go with an OLED is 27-inch (26.5-inch to be exact), but with panels like VA, TN, and IPS, you can even have a screen size measuring <20 inches. Nonetheless, for modern gaming purposes, most users tend to prefer a 24-inch or 25-inch screen size, which makes OLED unavailable to them.

24 and 25-inch gaming displays are more common due to their lower cost, smaller footprint, good pixel density with 1080p resolution, and popularity in eSports gaming. These are the primary reasons why Samsung is rumoredly considering launching a 25-inch (24.5-inch to be exact) OLED gaming display next year. According to Channel Gate (via IT Home), Samsung has high expectations for this form factor, since 25-inch gaming monitors are quite popular among eSports gamers and gamers in general due to cost and resolution ( since 1080p at 27-inch doesn't provide a pleasant experience compared to smaller screens).

With the production of 25-inch OLED displays, Samsung can target gamers on a budget who are currently not in the position to buy expensive 27-inch or bigger OLED monitors. These 25-inch OLED gaming monitors will still be more expensive than the IPS or VA models, but since the cost of a lot of OLED gaming monitors has been dropping gradually, the 24 or 25-inch OLED gaming monitors could become more affordable in the near future.
That said, Samsung is reportedly targeting a refresh rate range of 300-360Hz, which will be excellent for this segment. 1080p@360Hz gaming monitors will provide rich visual details, high fluidity, and excellent contrast to enthusiasts without costing an arm and a leg. However, we will have to wait for Samsung to confirm this, and it's possible that the refresh rate could go even higher since we already have 500Hz 2K OLED gaming displays. Nonetheless, these are very expensive models and don't cater to the demands of most, as most lack sufficient hardware to push the frame rates to 500+ FPS at that resolution.

Some of the most affordable OLED gaming monitors, like MSI MAG 271QP QD-OLED X24, have already dropped to around $500. You can have 2K resolution with up to 240Hz refresh rate on these displays. Displays like ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACDNG can boost up to 360Hz refresh rate and are currently available at around $600-$650. Therefore, it's likely that it will be possible to buy a 25-inch 1080p OLED monitor at a price tag of $300-$400.
