Samsung Phone app is now available on Windows, and if you are a Galaxy user, you would like this feature because it brings an iPhone-continuity-like feature onto Samsung devices that are connected to Windows-based laptops. Now, this is not new, as Link to Windows already allows this feature, but having Samsung's own phone app feature will definitely deliver a better experience.
Samsung Phone app allows native continuity on Galaxy mobile devices and Galaxy notebooks
Once you download and set up the Samsung Phone app on your Windows-powered laptop, you will get this continuity feature that will allow you to pick up phone calls from your laptop. The app is now available on the Microsoft Store, but at the time of writing, it is only limited to the Galaxy Book 4 series, which does make sense. However, we have a hope that this feature will expand to other laptops soon. Here is what the app description reads:
“Never miss an important call again. Use the phone number and mobile plan from your Galaxy phone to make and receive calls on your PC.”
Now, it is worth noting that although the app is available on the Microsoft Store, it is not available to all users. The roll-out could take some time before it hits everyone, but the thing that bothers me is how Samsung has kept exclusivity to its Galaxy Book 4 series, and the Phone App is currently not supported on other laptops. This is something that I hope changes in the future so more and more users can actually experience how beneficial this feature is for them.
Speaking of continuity and an ecosystem, I often talk about how Samsung is slowly turning into Apple, and in a good way. Having something like this is definitely a great experience for users as it allows you to have a seamless experience with all your connected devices. Samsung Phone app coming to Windows is one thing that I really admire, and I hope that the company continues to work on this ecosystem and make it even better in the future.
