Enjoying fluid gaming sessions on a 4K monitor means you need to have the best hardware possible belonging to this generation, and unfortunately, those components are out of reach for the majority of consumers due to their ridiculous price tags. What is not out of reach are QHD monitors from Samsung, and Odyssey G55A does not break the bank and offers a high refresh rate and a super-fast response time to give gamers the edge in their gaming sessions.
For $299.99, the current listing on Amazon offers a ‘price to performance’ while also giving plentiful features that cater to content creators and general users who want to indulge in some media consumption. The display size of the Odyssey G55A gaming monitor is large too, with a 32-inch diagonal measurement providing sufficient screen real estate for gamers, creative professionals and regular users. The 2560 x 1440 resolution has a 165Hz refresh, along with a 1ms response time.
Given the gaming monitor’s attractive pricing, the Odyssey G55A does not support NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology. Still, it supports AMD’s FreeSync, which is not a bad deal, though having G-SYNC is a better overall addition to any gaming panel. Samsung also claims that its Odyssey G55A is HDR10-certified and produces impeccable image quality at this price point. The design also looks futuristic, giving off that gamer vibe.
In terms of ports selection, the Odyssey G55A has two display inputs, one HDMI and one DisplayPort, which is more than enough. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack present, along with a USB port to connect your peripherals, such as a keyboard, mouse, or storage device. The Samsung Odyssey G55A exudes incredible value for the price, but sadly, we do not know how long this deal will last, so you better be quick if you have the capable hardware but lack a decent gaming monitor.
