The Galaxy S25 lineup is reported to comprise of three models that Samsung intends to unveil during the beginning of 2025 to obtain a healthy lead against its competition. The launch of the new series in the first quarter also gives customers the much-needed encouragement to upgrade their devices at the start of the year, and according to the latest estimates, the Korean giant is expected to witness moderate success from its upcoming flagship family as it is forecasted to ship 37 million units. However, while its top-end range might be anticipated to sell well, the production target for 2025 has been reduced.
Galaxy S25’s estimated production volume is reportedly set at 37 million units, making it 2 million units higher than the Galaxy S24 lineup
With the Galaxy S24 family, Jukanlosreve mentions that Samsung is estimated to ship 35 million units this year. Comparing this statistic with the Galaxy S25, the latter could bring in a higher volume for the company, which can be attributed to the fact that Samsung’s three flagships will arrive exclusively with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and no Exynos 2500 variants. Unfortunately, the small shipment bump delivered by the Galaxy S25 series will not save the firm from an overall slump because The Elec reports that next year’s production target is 229.4 million units.
The aforementioned figure for next year is less than the previous estimate of 237 million units that was forecasted in October. Fortunately, the silver lining is that despite the reduced shipments, Samsung is said to accumulate a higher sum in 2025 than it will this year, which is approximately 222 million units. As for foldables, the manufacturer aims to produce around 7 million units, which is significantly less than the regular form factor of smartphones, and that is because Samsung is facing difficulties when selling these in droves.
The high price is obviously a significant factor that prevents customers from making Samsung’s foldables their daily driver, but there are a ton of players that have entered the market, all aiming to seize a piece of the pie. Hopefully, with generative AI playing a pivotal role and picking up the pace, Samsung can experience the right amount of success, but this reduced shipment forecast could be a bad omen. For now, we will wait to receive updates on the Galaxy S25 lineup and will monitor its shipment trend when the flagships are officially released, so stay tuned.
