Chinese laptop makers have prepared their new gaming laptops carrying the RTX 5050 GPU. One vendor has announced that it will launch its latest gaming laptop tomorrow.
MECHREVO Announces Kuangshi X Gaming Laptop, Powered by GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU; Scheduled for a June 24th Launch
Even though NVIDIA hasn't officially declared 24th June as the release date for the RTX 5050, a Chinese laptop manufacturer, MECHREVO, has announced that their first RTX 5050-powered laptop will launch tomorrow. As of now, there aren't any solid reports on the launch date of both the desktop and laptop RTX 5050 variants, but previous leaks suggested that the GPU, especially the desktop variant, will be launched in July.
As shared by @realVictor_M, MECHREVO has announced the Kuangshi X Gaming laptop that will carry the GB207-based GeForce RTX 5050 laptop chip. It is scheduled for a launch tomorrow, which means the RTX 5050 laptop variant will be officially released by NVIDIA. We haven't seen other laptop manufacturers announcing the release date yet, but one should expect more RTX 5050 laptops to release tomorrow, especially because we have seen major vendors listing their RTX 5050 laptops on retailers.
The slide doesn't reveal if the RTX 5050 laptop will launch in other parts of the world on the 24th, but it could be tomorrow or a bit later. Till then, the Chinese hardware market will see a retail launch of these laptops, which should be followed by the launch of the RTX 5050 desktop next month.
The GeForce RTX 5050 is the slowest gaming GPU in the RTX 50 series lineup, featuring the GB207 die. It will offer 2560 CUDA Cores and a VRAM capacity of 8 GB. There is still dispute about whether it will feature GDDR6 or GDDR7 VRAM, but for the laptop variant, the reports of GDDR7 VRAM seem stronger.
The RTX 5050 is expected to be aimed at smooth 1080p gaming performance on a budget and will support DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation techniques. This is probably the last GPU in the first batch, and it's expected that NVIDIA will follow up with the "Super" series later this year.
