How to Root Samsung Galaxy S5 – Android Tips

As previously shared with you, Samsung Galaxy S5's root has already been achieved thanks to Chainfire. This root solution has so far been managed for G9005, which is expected to be the international variant of Galaxy S5. Considering the major users for this variant, CF has released the root solution to root Samsung Galaxy S5.

Follow this guide and root Samsung Galaxy S5 model G9005 international model with the standard steps using Odin. CF-Auto-Root roots your device by installing the SuperSU binary and its apk along with Stock Recovery.

Important: This tutorial only works with the international Samsung Galaxy S5, model number G900F. Make sure to proceed only if you are an advanced user and are aware of the troubles rooting brings like void warranty and more.

Here is how you can root Samsung Galaxy S5 with CF-Auto-Root tool:

Required files: download the CF-Auto-Root from this link. Extract the contents of this zip file and save it on the desktop. Also download the Odin 3.09 from here.

Note: If after rooting, Samsung Galaxy S5 isn't booting into normal mode, you would have to factory reset it: power off the SGS5 > boot into Recovery mode > select wipe data / factory reset option > confirm > reboot Galaxy S5 in normal mode. Ta da!
