Conclusion - Overclocked Triple-Fan With RGB For $25 US More

Now that we enter the custom OC scene, the first card that we are looking at is the XLR8 Gaming OC from PNY. Featuring a triple-fan design in a 2-slot form factor with all the RGB goodness & an out-of-the-box OC, this card is a very nice premium offering that costs just $25 US extra over the MSRP.

In terms of performance, the PNY XLR8 Gaming OC offered a 2-3% bump in performance which was mostly notable at lower resolutions of 1080p and 1440p. This is what the majority of users will be playing games at when running the 4070 SUPER. You can get the graphics card running at up to 2.9 GHz on the same cooling solution with ease and that can yield an extra FPS or two but the FE models already offer 2.8 GHz clocks out of the box so there will still be a minimal difference in regards to that model.

The cooling solution on the other hand yields 5-6C lower temperatures which is very nice and the fans operate very silently. You also get RGB lighting on the card which is something that you won't see on the Founders Edition model and having a triple-fan cooling solution in a dual-slot design is great. Overall, the PNY XLR8 Gaming OC is a fantastic option based on its $25 US premium price point and if you want those RGB looks inside your PC, it is an option worth considering.
