$599 USConclusion - An Upgraded MSRP Model
GALAX offers a very interesting proposition to gamers who are eyeing their EX series. Not only do the cards come with premium aesthetics in black, white, and pink colors but most importantly, the card we tested is priced at the MSRP of $599 US. This means that you don't have to pay extra to get either better cooling or better looks as the GALAX EX incorporates both. Plus, there's also OC support.
The GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER EX White does come at an out-of-box OC of 2580 MHz boost through the 1-click OC software, offering a +105 MHz bump over the reference clocks. While the OC provides a marginal boost to performance, the graphics card still delivers exceptional efficiency & is easily the king of this price segment in that regard.
We went with the manual OC route, upping the clock speeds by +180 MHz and the memory clock to +1200 MHz while setting the power limit to the max. We got a net performance uplift of +9% across all titles. This allowed the card to match and even exceed the RTX 4070 Ti (Non-SUPER) variant and at far better efficiency.

Of course, your main concern with such overclocking would be thermals and power but GALAX's EX cooler does a fantastic job at keeping the card running below 60C temperatures even when over-clocked. The power consumption did see an increase by 10-15W but it was nowhere touching its max power limit. In terms of an overall package, you are getting solid rasterization performance, Ada's great ray tracing and RTX features plus a custom design with all the RGB goodness and an added touch of carbon fiber which looks great. The card is a great option worth considering if you are looking to get something at the $599 US MSRP of the 4070 SUPER.
