Conclusion - Biostar Goes High-End on AM5

Biostar's latest foray into the high-end motherboard category starts with the X870E Valkyrie which continues to build upon the previous X670E entry. The new motherboard is designed for high-end AM5 Ryzen CPUs so let's sum this board up.

Compared to the previous Valkyrie, the motherboard offers 2 extra power phases, more USB ports, a better audio chip, and up to 8000 MT/s memory support, up from 6000 MT/s on the older model. These are great additions if priced around the same $400 US price point. The motherboard doesn't feature any WIFI support out of the box but gives users the option to add their solution with the dedicated M.2 slot.

The things we loved about the Biostar X870E Valkyrie:

  • Great Design
  • Strong VRM Solution
  • Faster Memory Support
  • Lots of USB ports
  • Four M.2 slots with heatsinks
  • Decent BIOS Solution

Things that we would have liked to see:

  • Dual LAN ports
  • No WIFI Out of the box

The pricing of the Biostar X870E Valkyrie remains unknown for now but if priced around $400 US, it is up there with other high-end solutions with a 20+ phase VRM design. The motherboard offers great support with Ryzen 9000 CPUs and we have also heard similar support to be offered on X3D chips which are rolling out in the coming weeks.
