NVIDIA's Sean Pelletier Confirms Game Ready Driver 595.71 Fixed Performance Issues in Resident Evil Requiem, but Users Will Need to Reboot

NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 591.86, which was released at the end of January, reportedly caused trouble for gamers with the latest Resident Evil instalment. Many users on social media reported that they were seeing a significant performance impact in Resident Evil Requiem with the Driver 591.86, mostly involving GeForce RTX 40 series cards. Some users were reporting significant FPS drops, while some reported crashes.

While NVIDIA did release a new driver to fix these issues, it was rather a disaster. Game Ready Driver 595.59, which was released last week, introduced a lot of bugs and caused major issues such as black screens and system freezes, especially with the RTX 50 cards. NVIDIA quickly pulled it back and came up with the new driver version 595.71, which fixed these issues, and according to NVIDIA's Director of Game Ready Technology, Sean Pelletier, gamers should now see better performance in Resident Evil Requiem.

Some users asked whether they also fixed the performance degradation in the latest Resident Evil game, as the release notes don't mention performance fixes for the game. It does list out a bunch of gaming bugs and general bug fixes, but doesn't explicitly mention the performance degradation in Resident Evil Requiem. However, Sean confirmed that they released an OTA (Over-The-Air) profile update for the game in the same Game Ready Driver 595.71, which should fix the issues.

For those who didn't see any changes, NVIDIA recommends rebooting their system after installing the latest drivers.
