The saga continues with users still getting free hardware from Amazon. This time, the user got an additional nine drives that would have cost him thousands.

Redditor Buys One Samsung 990 PRO SSD, But Ends Up Getting 10 Of These From Amazon Mistakenly

The Redditor u/TheDankestYo used his entire year's luck by placing an order on Amazon. Such stories aren't uncommon anymore, but these are still rare and occasional. Previously, we saw a user receiving two boxes filled with dozens of NVMe SSDs instead of the two SSDs he ordered. Since it was a mistake by Amazon, the company allowed him to keep the extra storage drives.

This case is similar, but the user ordered just one SSD. His luck got him not two or three, but a whopping 10 NVMe Samsung 990 PRO Gen 4 SSDs, which would have cost nearly $4,000+. The user uploaded the invoice, which shows he ordered a single Samsung 990 PRO 2 TB Gen 4 SSD, which cost him $479. This means the total value of 10 such SSDs is nearly $4,800.

He can now keep them or sell them for profit to invest in something bigger. For $4,000+, it's easier to build a high-end gaming PC, featuring up to RTX 5080, but some pre-built gaming PCs with RTX 5090 cost around $4000-$4500. Therefore, the options are many. It appears that the user also ordered some more parts, including an AIO, which could mean he is either upgrading or building a PC from scratch.

That said, if you are thinking about getting extremely lucky like the u/TheDankestYo, then the chances are pretty low. Amazon hardly makes such mistakes, but if it does, it usually doesn't ask you for the additional products back. The next best thing to do is check your local Costco or Walmart stores, which might end up offering you a solid deal. You may also check your local clearance stores for PC hardware, as we have seen people getting hundreds of dollars' worth of hardware for under $10.
