VOID Interactive has just announced that its debut game, the self-published first-person tactical shooter Ready or Not, has surpassed three million units sold on consoles. It's an impressive figure, especially when you consider that the game only launched for Sony's PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series S|X consoles on July 15, less than two months ago. It had already celebrated two million units sold in the first two weeks.
The total number of units sold is 13 million units, ten of which are on PC, where the game established its fame through a two-year early access period. The game also supports cross-play, so players can team up with people from any supported platform.
Recently, there was a bit of a controversy among the Ready or Not PC community following a few content changes deployed to provide parity with the console versions. The following six targeted visual changes to the PC version were made by VOID Interactive:
- Post-mortem dismemberment has been disabled (note: dismemberment for living characters remains unchanged
- Twisted Nerve: The girl is now depicted as sleeping instead of convulsing.
- A Lethal Obsession: Nudity involving the ghillie suit suspect has been adjusted
- Hide and Seek: Female hostages now wear underwear
- Narcos: Police informant hostage now wears underwear
- 23 Megabytes a Second: ‘Photo of Minors’ objective model was revised, also to better connect narratively with the later ‘Sinuous Trail’ mission.
- Post-mortem dismemberment has been disabled (note: dismemberment for living characters remains unchanged)
