Razer Pulls Blade 16 and Blade 18 Configurator Pages From the Website for the US While Other Regions Remain Unaffected

The heavy tariffs on imports from countries like China, Taiwan, and other countries have apparently forced various companies to halt sales of their products in the US and Razer is the latest one. The tariffs are effective from today and the Trump administration has just announced a massive 104% duty on Chinese electronic imports, which has affected PC hardware makers like Razer.

Razer, which has been producing gaming laptops and other gaming peripherals for a while, has paused the sales of its latest offerings in the Blade 16 and Blade 18 lineups in the US (Blade 14 is still available). The Verge reports that the Razer Blade 16 was up for purchase as recently as 1st April and now the configurator page has also been taken down. Razer is, however, still selling those models in Canada and various regions of the world, which we can confirm from the website.

Razer's newest offerings in the Blade 16 and Blade 18 series include the latest GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs paired with high-end processors like AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Currently, you can only see the "Notify me" option on those pages while the specs and FAQ data have been removed from the US section of the website.

The company has refused to comment on the matter, but this step has likely been taken due to the import tariffs. The US government's decision to implement the tariffs is said to be part of a broader strategy to protect its domestic industries, but the initial effects are significant. Giants like Apple saw a big 3% drop in shares in a single day, and we also saw a huge surge in demand for Apple phones due to the fear of price increases.

With a 104% tariff, various devices will see a massive jump in price which has impacted both companies and consumers almost immediately. In the following weeks, it's expected that the prices of phones and laptops will increase drastically. However, these aren't the only product categories to be affected by the tariffs, but may include categories such as furniture, clothing, electronics, and other essential categories.
