Qualcomm's next-gen Snapdragon X2 CPUs have surfaced on shipping manifests, revealing a new "Ultra Premium" lineup as well.
Qualcomm's Next-Gen Snapdragon X2 SoCs Are Under Development; Release Expected By H2 2025
Well, the San Diego chipmaker's first venture in the PC market was certainly interesting, as the firm managed to see adoption from several mainstream laptop integrators, mainly due to their impressive AI performance. However, in the current market, the SoCs have been overshadowed by the new releases, such as AMD's Strix Point APUs and Intel Lunar Lake chips, showing that there is need for Qualcomm to come up with a second iteration, and it looks like they are already in development, as SKUs have surfaced up on shipping manifests (via Olrak_29).

While the shipping manifests have revealed any specifics about Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon X2 lineup, it is safe to say that they are already in the development process. The manifests possibly point at ICs in the supply chain right now, and interestingly, there's mention of "Ultra Premium" with the SKU's name, suggesting that the San Diego chipmaker might introduce a new lineup alongside its mainstream "Elite" series, but that is uncertain for now.

We reported a while back on Snapdragon X2 SKUs, where it was revealed that there were SKUs coming with the SC8480XP naming scheme, which utilizes the "Glymur" or "Project Glymur" codename, and were tested back in Q3 2024. Back then, it was stated that these SoCs were in pretty early stages of development, so it is safe to say that Qualcomm's 2nd-generation Snapdragon laptop chips won't debut anytime soon.
The information around Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 chips is pretty slim, except for the fact that they will debut with next-gen Oryon cores, and will come with higher core-counts. If the "Ultra Premium" lineup does exist, it will certainly feature the top-end SoCs from Qualcomm, competing with the higher-end offerings from AMD and Intel. As far as when we can expect the new lineup to arrive, H2 2025 is the timeline mentioned in previous rumors, and the surfacing up of shipping manifests does make us believe that it is possible.
