CAPCOM's PRAGMATA launched last month on PC and consoles after years of development. Although the long development cycle did not bode well for the company's new IP, the game turned out great, selling over 1 million copies in just a few days of availability.

The game's success wasn't limited to its launch window, as Hugh and Diana's adventure has been confirmed to have hit over 2 million copies sold worldwide, while the game received some surprise improvements on PlayStation 5 Pro that make this version of the game even more the definitive console version.

While celebrating this new sales milestone hit in less than a month since the game's launch, the Japanese publisher released the 1.21 update, which introduced some welcome enhancements on PlayStation 5 Pro. As detailed by Digital Foundry, the game's internal resolution has been bumped from 864p to 1080p, resulting in better image quality, and ray-traced reflections have been improved. Better yet, performance seems to be unaffected by these enhancements, hitting a relatively solid 60 FPS for the best image quality out of all current-generation consoles.

Although PRAGMATA's narrative isn't among the best we have seen in the current console generation, the game still manages to be an engaging experience thanks to the relationship between protagonists Hugh and Diana, and its no-frills gameplay. "CAPCOM's new PRAGMATA IP feels like a return to old-school design: extreme linearity, no unnecessary bells and whistles, and a narrative barely worthy of such a name. There's beauty in such simplicity, and the game's main quirk, the real-time hacking mechanics, provides a fun, yet original combat experience," wrote Alessio Palumbo in his review.
