Today, Sony announced the PlayStation Plus games lineup for January 2024. Subscribers across all of the tiers (Premium, Extra, and Essential) will be able to add a trio of great games to their libraries, including Asobo Studio's A Plague Tale: Requiem, Flying Wild Hog's Evil West, and Drinbox Studios's Nobody Saves the World.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the award-winning sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game earned a 9 out of 10 in Wccftech's review penned by Chris Wray:

Overall, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a true sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it takes every single element from the first outing and expands on them, giving the player more to do and more to see, wrapping it up in one of the better stories you'll find in video games.

It also easily made it into our 'Best Action Games of 2022' shortlist, threatening Sony Santa Monica's God of War Ragnarök (three versus four votes) for the title of Best Action Game awarded by Wccftech staff.

The second PlayStation Plus game of January 2024 also ended up on last year's Wccftech shortlists, albeit for the shooter genre, and was the runner-up for the community award behind Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Evil West had previously scored 8.2 out of 10 in Wccftech's review by Kai Tatsumoto:

If it weren't for Flying Wild Hog's fantastic combat in Evil West, I could have chalked this up to being a mediocre tale of vampire hunting at the mercy of the US Government through various flavors of the American Frontier. However, that sentiment is gracefully saved with a solid right hook and a shotgun in the left hand. Even if vampires, werewolves, and Teslapunk weaponry aren't your thing, give this ungodly hand a fair shake and see what's so special about the Rentiers after all.

The last game of this PS Plus batch, Nobody Saves the World from Guacamelee! developer Drinkbox, was rated even better on Wccftech, getting an 8.5 out of 10 from Nathan Birch:

Nobody Saves the World is a good, fundamentally-sound ARPG. The game’s Zelda-esque overworld and dungeons are brought to life with beautiful, vivid visuals, the soundtrack by Canadian indie rock star Jim Guthrie is a banger, the basic action is responsive and satisfying, and enemies and bosses are well-designed. The game also includes two-player online co-op, which can’t help but make a game like this more fun.

You'll have between January 2 and February 5 to add these games to your library. At that point, you'll be able to play them for as long as you keep a PlayStation Plus subscription active.
