Google will shortly kick off the Pixel 10 launch in a few hours, where the company will announce a boatload of products, including the most premium offering of the event, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Armed with the best hardware available, it is also expected to be the advertising behemoth’s most durable foldable smartphone, with the latest leaked marketing material revealing not just a fortified hinge, but other improvements baked into the software designed to elevate the user experience.
The latest leaked images show that Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold is designed to survive more than 10 years of folding and unfolding
Out of four images that were shared by Roland Quandt, three of them talk about how the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s primary display can be used for multitasking purposes, such as Split Screen. Additionally, Google has also implemented Gemini Live, which is baked into the flagship, so you get to know any information just by getting a specific object into the viewfinder. In one of the images, the marketing material says that you need to shake the camera, and it will inform the Pixel 10 Pro Fold user on what kind of sea mammal you are looking at.
One of Google’s biggest strengths surrounding its Pixel series has always been the cameras’ color science, but this time, the user gets to decide if the snapped image is according to their liking or not, thanks to the camera review system. One image shows you can peruse multiple photos and see which one you want to keep and which you wish to discard. With the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s larger display, you can review multiple pictures at once, and the camera software has also been updated to provide you with a seamless UI. Last, but certainly not least, the hinge mechanism.
Google will apparently market its Pixel 10 Pro Fold as the company’s first foldable to feature IP68 dust and water resistance, while also packing a new gearless high-strength hinge capable of folding and unfolding for more than 10 years. Of course, as you might have guessed, there is an asterisk right next to this claim, but since those details are currently unavailable to us, we can assume that this will depend on the number of folds and unfolds a user performs in a day.
From the images, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks to sport an upgraded and premium design, and the gray finish looks outstanding. How its hinge mechanism will hold up against time is another debate, and one that we will discuss after the event has concluded.
