Philips Launches 27M4N3500PT 27-inch Gaming Monitor, Boasting 2K, FHD, and HD Configurations With Up to 540 Hz Refresh Rate
Gaming monitors aren't just evolving rapidly; they are also getting cheaper. With the introduction of advanced OLED gaming monitors, conventional LCDs are getting cheaper. Due to this, gamers can transition to better displays easily without breaking the bank.
While most monitor vendors are now prioritizing dual-mode gaming monitors, delivering two different configurations for different genres of games, some display makers have already transitioned to a triple-mode configuration. A couple of vendors have already debuted their first triple-mode gaming monitor, including GIGABYTE, ASUS, and MSI. However, most of them have opted for either OLED or Mini LED panels for superior visual quality.
Philips, on the other hand, has settled with a Fast IPS panel for its latest 27M4N3500PT gaming monitor that aims to provide triple-mode configuration to the masses. The gaming monitor is not just Philips' first triple-mode monitor, but is also the cheapest triple-mode monitor to date. Unlike other triple-mode models, the 27M4N3500PT doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and still brings decent specifications to the table.
The monitor can boast 2K@275Hz, FHD@360Hz, and HD@540Hz modes, allowing users to switch from immersive to competitive mode for various game genres. The panel works at just 1ms GtG, offering quick frame transitions, making it ideal for competitive titles. It's also decently bright, delivering up to 350 nits of brightness and displaying a wide color gamut, including color spaces such as 100% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3, and 94% Adobe RGB.
For connectivity, it brings two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DP 1.4 port, which should be sufficient for all three modes, but unfortunately, you won't find a USB hub at the I/O. Philips has priced the 27M4N3500PT at just 1,099 Yuan or US$162, making it the cheapest triple-mode monitor in the market.
