Philips Launches New 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor at $868; Features AI Ambiglow for Immersion, Dual 5W Speakers, and 90W PD
Popular monitor maker Philips debuted another gaming monitor called Evnia 32M2N6901A, which is positioned in the high-end segment for enthusiasts. Philips regularly updates its monitor catalog by adding new displays with different panel technologies, catering to the demands of gamers and enthusiasts, and this one is one of its best upper mid-range/high-end displays.
The Evnia 32M2N6901A boasts a 32-inch display size for better immersion and a 4K resolution to display sharper images. For gamers, 4K resolution is going to be the sweet spot, provided they have powerful hardware to push the frame rates beyond the advertised refresh rate. The Evnia 32M2N6901A delivers a 165 Hz refresh rate out of the box, offering a fluid gameplay experience that will feel buttery smooth in both triple-A titles and eSports games.
Apart from a high refresh rate, it is also highly responsive with just 0.03 ms of response time, transitioning the frames quickly without adding any ghosting or motion blur to the content. This means better performance for competitive eSports titles where clarity is crucial. The monitor is also DisplayHDR True Black 400-certified, delivering vivid image quality, but the most notable feature is the QD-OLED panel that produces extremely deep blacks while producing vibrant images for great immersion.
Philips says the monitor also boasts Low Blue Mode technology to reduce strain on the eyes, but it doesn't compromise on color accuracy. This allows longer gaming sessions, and to further improve the immersion, Philips deploys the AI-powered Ambiglow technology that projects RGB light from the back of the monitor, which can be synced with the on-screen content.
For connectivity, there are some traditional ports, including 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x DP 1.4 port, and a USB Type-C port that supports 90W PD. Moreover, a dedicated USB hub is available for connecting multiple peripherals, and a KVM switch to allow controlling two devices with the same set of peripherals simultaneously.
Philips has priced the Evnia 32M2N6901A at £649.99, which is around US$868. The monitor will be officially available for purchase starting in August.
