Palworld just keeps going on an absolutely incredible ride toward the top. The 'Pokémon with guns' survival crafting game released last Friday by Japanese developer Pocketpair has now sold six million units in just four days. It has also surpassed 1.5 million concurrent Steam players, inching ever closer to the second spot on the all-time chart. Counter-Strike 2 managed 1.8 million nine months ago, around the time of its launch, but it's a free-to-play game. Moreover, at this rate, Palworld could very well blaze past it during the next weekend.

Of course, unlike Counter-Strike 2, Pocketpair's game is also available through other venues, including the Microsoft Store, Xbox, and Game Pass. That's how the game's overall concurrent peak has reached 1.7 million players, according to the studio.

On PC, owners of GeForce RTX graphics cards can activate NVIDIA DLSS 2 (Super Resolution) to improve their frame rate. There currently is no native support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution or Intel XeSS, so users without a GeForce RTX GPU would have to resort to Unreal Engine's TSR.

Luckily, modder PureDark has just released an AMD FSR3 mod (which actually offers the option to use DLSS or Intel XeSS in addition to AMD's frame generation technique). He also showed it running on the ASUS ROG Ally, with the frame rate being bumped from around 60 FPS to 90-100 FPS.

As usual with PureDark's mods, you'd have to subscribe to his Patreon to get access. The modder also clarified he hasn't added DLSS 3 yet because Palworld already runs at a high frame rate on GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards, which are the only ones capable of utilizing NVIDIA's frame generation method.

Going back to the game itself, Pocketpair has shared an update on some of the issues that players have encountered during their time in Palworld:

The development team is aware of serious bugs that are occurring, such as being unable to enter servers, unable to play multiplayer, and losing saved data, and are currently working on fixing them. We will share information about the fixes for these issues as soon as possible.

Please note that save data from singleplayer and co-op may be able to be restored. For information on how to restore from backup, please refer to this URL.
